Standard Colors
These are the standard color schemes I use most often. Since the lures are hand painted
there are variation in the design from lure to lure. I also adjust color schemes slightly
depending on the lure style.
|
Florida Shiner |
Silver head and scales with a dark green back over a pale yellow belly
with red gills and throat. Sometimes with an orange breast. A classis Florida
color pattern that can't miss. |
Orlando Shiner |
Gold head and scales with a dark green back and pale yellow belly. Orange
breast with red gills and throat. A local variation of the classic shiner
pattern that works well in clear or cloudly water. |
Toho Shiner
|
Gold head and scales with a dark brown back and pale yellow belly. Orange
breast with red gills and throat. Graet for dark or cloudly water. |
Florescent Shiner |
Gold head and scales with a florescent green back back and florescent
yellow belly. Florescent orange breast with red gills and throat. This is
a moderized version of the classic Florida paint scheme. Best in the evenings
or early mornings. |
Florida Shad
|
Gold head and scales over a black body. Yellow breast with red and yellow
gills and red throat. Good low light bait, another Florida classic. |
Golden Minnow
|
Gold head and scales over a light florescent green back. Florescent yellow
sides and orange belly. This is my own creation, pictures do not do it justice. |
Yellow-spotted
|
The classic yellow body with red and black spots, great for fresh or salt
water. |
Spotted Ape |
A popular variation of the Flordia Shiner, this pattern was used by Egar,
Boone, South Bend, Heddon, Lure Jensen and others. |
Custom Painting
The following paint schemes are available for special order on any lure or a a custom repaint on virtually any new or used lure. |
Florida Shiner Paint Schemes
$10.00
Jim Pfeffer made this paint scheme famous, but it has been copied and modified by a number of other Florida lure makers and even few large manufacturers. The variation above, called Spotted Ape, is most often associated with the Nip-I-Diddee made by South Bend, then later by Heddon and Lure Jensen. While I only make wooden top water plugs I am willing to paint Florida Shiner or Spotted Ape schemes on virtually any lure including the 6" Rouge above, plastic crank baits and I have even done some Sammy style lures, they are awesome.

Gator Bait Paint Scheme
$10.00
This is a novelty paint scheme that I have seen done by several makers including Jim Pfeffer. I not seen any done in recent years though. Like the Spotted Ape, this scheme can be done on virtually any bait |
